I packed my life into boxes,
Filling them each to the brim
As if all the loves of my life
Could be labelled with categories
Simultaneously varied and distinct.
I folded up the cardboard flaps
Sealing them with sticky tape
As if my secret dreams and desires
Could be distilled into essences
And poured into chambers of my heart
I took my crimson marker pen
And wrote on top of each box
FRAGILE! BE CAREFUL!
In blood red letters all capitalized
Fearing someone would break my heart.
