The internet costs money

All these fancy websites, fast bandwidth, photo and video storage and streaming, cool new animations, javascript, designs, responsive webpages, all these web 2.0, web 3.0 magic. It all costs money. The internet costs money. The electricity, the time of the workers.

And nice internet, costs more money and effort still. That’s why most people end up using free services, the googles, the facebooks, the buzzfeeds, the twitters. Most of the massive services are ad-supported, most of the paid services are niche, expensive, and unaffordable to most folks. It doesn’t make sense to pay $10 a month for 100 different little services. $1000 a month of website subscriptions? Who can afford that? Are they overpriced or simply just trying to stay alive.
