Did you remember when we learnt how

to read run-on lines, and how

bizarrely they actually, pun-unintended,

run in an astoundingly smooth

pattern in speech that hardly

resembles the written form in verse?

Did you remember when we learnt how

to write in stanzas and rhythms

seemingly archaic, or rather

we were only taught to read.

Did you remember when we learnt how

we could write, for ourselves,

for each other and bury our little dreams

thoughts desires and inquisities in

delicately constructed mirrored halways

painted a riot of colors.

Did you remember how I doubt anyone

else could really fathom what was happening

and really unabashedly criticize what was wrong.

Did you remember when it was over
