Of language, self expression, and meanings

One of the first things I loved about the french language was the phrase “Je m’appelle”. Sure you can say the same thing in English: I call myself. It just isn’t quite the same though.
In french, you introduce your name (properly) as je m’appelle, and you ask as comment vous vous appelez, how do you call yourself.
I was always fascinated with the focus on how do You call Yourself. It always seemed to be a vastly different mindset. Who do you see yourself as? What do you call yourself? 🙂
A name, might be what others know you as, it might be what identifies you in an administrative term. But what is someone’s impression of you? What kind of person are you? How do you speak? Are you cheerful are you loud are you quiet do you sing are you tall are you funny. What do you see yourself and how do you appear to others?
I’m sure there are a gazillion tips and recommendations out there. I am not going to go through the boring stuff, none of them are certain tenets.

Who am I?
