oh yeah, the big rectangular signboards with the square icons and bright orange. finally, finally. it’s been a longggg journey, as those who i have been whining to about will understand. so much so i actually dug the camera out of the bag for this photo even though i was only 50m from the immigration gates and another 20m from the baggage carrousel and another 50m to the taxi and another 15min to home.
supposed to go back to sleep coz it’s like, you know 7am for me now after having dazed from 5am to 7am. which explains why i can’t really care about much and i can’t even tell whether i am feeling well coz its all kinda fuzzy. and i have this crap headache that’s like leftover from monday, or maybe not. it almost killed me on the plane. and yeah i just bathed so everything is kinda wet.
just to entertain you ppl while im knocked out: delhi airport sucks. the shiny new building aint open yet, but then its still india. that aside, i hate it that they always want to check your booking slip before allowing you into the airport. this is not too much a problem until one starts changing flights around. *curses* therefore it helps to be able to show emails on phones and argue your way through lousy security. checkin… well sufficiently messy and inconsistent as with all their airports. whatever. so the last day went like this… meeting/discussion/training/messingaround till 7/8pm. went out for 20mins to buy something. came back and took car 45mins odd to airport, decent time/speed. check in. go upstairs to lounge and start eating chicken wings, kathi rolls (yuck), choc cookies, Lays tomato tango chips, coke,.. yes that was dinner. a rather appealing alternative to looking for indian food. [actually they have subway and some other foods in the airport terminal, but u gotta sit around in the chaotic waiting area] [actually i think every part of it is chaotic. lost n found counter included. shrug.] then the flight is delayed. om(f)g i wanna go home. whatever. do you know that it actually is tiresome to see ppl who do not travel well. = those who have never seen an aeroplane before, those who do not know how to use the inflight entertainment system, those who cannot sit still/sleep/eat/shutup/buckle their seat belts/shutup/and not make a mess of the place. bother. Though, i shall admit that in flight entertainment is unuserfriendly. ridiculous software engineers. then i tried to sleep. to the extent of success that i woke up many many many times, i shifted position many many many times, i dont know if i slept, but at the same time i missed snack time, supper time, drink time, so i guess i slept, or appeared to be sleeping. i didnt miss nap time, that was when everything quietened down and everyone finally shut up fully. always bring earplugs or headphones, never ever listen to any announcement, warning, alert, info, weather update, timezone update. sheesh. btw the dinner menu was unappetising. even for SQ. they have nice screens though, the new ones that is. and u can actually start watching movies before takeoff, again, bring your own earphones and adapter. was attended to by this ultra exuberant air steward, he was pretty incredible, i cannot imagine. he acts like he’s high on drugs, happy drugs. incredible. from start to end. i think he might drive his wife mad. then the plane did a 1/2 loop around sg. dunno why. around JB, down east side, out to south sea side, past marina into the ECP run. plane banks right, levels, buildings come into view. mini PSA port, mini ships, mini Temasek Tower, all very identifiable from 1km up, mini joss sticks aka sands, mini barrage, mini bay, mini golf course, mini bridge, mini trees, mini marine parade, mini flats, infinite flats, mini beach, mini jetty, mini Bayshore, mini The Bayshore, mini beach again, mini jetty, mini beach, mini terminus, mini highway, mini lorry, mini car, mini lamppost, mini golf course again, mini fence. you know, like those architect model cities. just like that. with moving parts. all mini. and then its also like Alice in Wonderland, where A stoops to peek into the small doll and doesnt know how to get into the mini world. plane descends, mini trees, mini roads, mini fence, mini Jet Airways aircraft, yeah it looks mini, mini runway, mini termal, i dont know it all looks mini from the plane window. and voila we are in miniland, somehow we entered magically into the fantasy. then, since we landed on the right side of the world, we embark at T3, great. im still in a daze. and dehydrated. coz everything is so dry and hot, the day before, and then i missed all the feeding times on the plane. yeah. and macdo was really quite far to walk to in the terminal, i think its like 200m away. i mean the taxi stand is 20m away. so it really is quite far. and then im home now and typing away. i shall sleep.
im not usually so tired after coming back. but delhi is a pita.
